Is there anything better than a long walk with your four-legged friend, followed by a cozy pint in a dog-friendly pub? We think not! 

We’ve rounded up the best dog-friendly pubs with walks straight from the front door, around the beautiful Beaconsfield and Amersham countryside. 

The Royal Standard of England, Forty Green, Beaconsfield: This historic pub dates back to the 17th century and is known for its warm welcome to dogs. There’s a large beer garden outside with water bowls a plenty perfect for a mid walk pit stop.

The Red Lion, Chenies, Rickmansworth: This traditional pub has a large garden area where dogs are welcome. They offer a great selection of food and drink, and dogs are allowed in the bar area as well.

The Crown Inn, Penn: This 16th-century pub is nestled in the picturesque hills just outside the village of Penn and welcomes dogs with open arms. There’s a large garden area with plenty of space for dogs to run around and take in the view.

The Black Horse, Fulmer, Slough: This dog-friendly pub is set in the pretty village of Fulmer and offers a warm welcome to dogs. There’s a large beer garden outside and a fantastic farm shop and deli to pick up your weekend treats.

The Squirrel, Penn Street: This charming pub is located in the village of Penn Street and welcomes dogs both inside and outside. Newly renovated and under new ownership, there’s a large garden area with a covered patio to the rear and deck chairs out the front overlooking the village green – a great spot on cricket match days!

The Jolly Cricketers, Seer Green: This pub is located in the picturesque Chilterns village of Seer Green and welcomes dogs both inside and outside. They have a large garden area with a marque, heaters and blankets for winter walks. The pub offers a great selection of food and drink, and dogs are allowed in the bar area as well.
