This week it’s all about the beets. As mentioned in our ‘Beetroot Love‘ post, beetroot has a number of nutritional benefits during exercise but it can also make a real show-stopper cocktail too or a cleansing juice (without the vodka!) Beetroots are currently in season now and throughout the summer into autumn, so there is no excuse, now is the perfect time to try your beets in a different way.
4 medium beetroots
4 celery sticks
2 teaspoons fresh horseradish (grated)
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
ice cubes to serve
Wash the beetroots, celery and citrus fruits and chop so they fit your juicer.
Juice into a large jug and add the rest of your ingredients, minus the ice
Serve into tall glasses over ice and add garnish if you like – fresh herbs, celery stick or a dash of Worcestershire sauce
