When I spent the day at a new home we have been asked to sell in Stamford I was reminded of the seminal Indian architect B. V. Doshi description of the difference between a house and a home, and how transforming the former into the latter is a never-ending process.
“There is a difference between a house and a home, between the product and the process. It starts with an understanding: I’m going to make a home, so I not only want to be comfortable but I want to feel comfortable. I want to feel happy.”
The Edwardian townhouse we are selling has been home to many people and several transformations have taken place, extensions added and interiors personalised. What is exciting for us to see is how people will visualise the property becoming their home and being happy living there.
