With a surname like Cook we couldn’t help ourselves but get our fabulous new agent Lisa in the kitchen for a photoshoot. And what a gorgeous kitchen it is too. Lisa is a property mad lady with a creative flair and an eye for a good deal. We first met Lisa when she was embarking on an ambitious renovation project and we have loved watching her transform an old cottage into a gorgeous home. We were so inspired by Lisa that she is now the Mr & Mrs Clarke agent in Dorridge, Knowle and Kenilworth. She has all the contacts to get homes under offer and she has a lovely way of working with clients. Lisa is a new breed of estate agent – knowledgeable, creative, nice and hard working.
We caught up with Lisa whilst cooking supper to find out more about her…
What’s on the menu? Spring has sprung so Jersey Royals, asparagus and some chicken. Healthy and tasty… I hope!
Who would your dream dinner party guest be? James Cracknell – A force of sheer grit and determination. I love that in a person. And I bet he tells a good story.
Why did you want to leave the corporate World and start working in estate agency? Property and all its potential inspires me. I love studying floor plans, seeing how a home can be improved, scouring through Country Homes and Interiors for the latest styles, rummaging around vintage barns looking for one off pieces of furniture or things I can transform. I just absolutely love anything to do with houses and what goes in them. I want to help people sell and people find their new home.
What do you love about Kenilworth, Dorridge & Knowle?
Kenilworth – I worked in Kenilworth for years and my husband grew up here. Although it’s always been a sort after town for property, it’s never felt quite as buzzy and happening as it is right now. It’s always had lots to offer: gorgeous characteristic properties, the Castle, Abbey Fields, the outstanding schools but there have never been so many fab restaurants and cool bars that we have now and once the train station opens, it’s well and truly back on the map.
Dorridge – I love the feeling of space you get in Dorridge with its imposing houses on its tree lined roads. My favourite pit stop here has to be the uber cool station café but not without a quick peek in Joal Interiors to check out the latest Little Greene paint colours.
Knowle – I love Knowle High Street. My two favourite places to be here are The Bread Collection … listed in the Times Top 10 small bakeries in Britain which is no surprise if you’ve been here. It’s a café, a deli, a Patisserie, a Boulangerie and a Pizzeria all rolled into one and is one of Knowles best kept secrets. Try it if you haven’t already.
Secondly, my favourite home shop ever…..Hudson Home. If you haven’t been you must. Owner Claire is super friendly and has a wealth of interior design knowledge she’d be happy to share with you whilst you’re browsing her beautiful home wares. I defy anyone to go in and come out empty handed. It’s impossible.
Sum up your style. Understated modern country with pops of the latest colours, the freshest smelling candles and fresh cut greens from the garden. You can’t beat it.
What does your perfect weekend look like? Staying at home, with family and friends, a country walk to the village pub and back to ours for a roast or barby, depending on the season.
Dream house? A Warwickshire Country Manor with roaring fires and a pool house. I love swimming so its my dream to have my own pool. One day……
