A cuppa with Alix

Let us start firstly by giving a warm welcome to our newest Partner Alix. The Welland Valley & Northamptonshire is his beloved stomping ground, and we don’t blame him. Think majestic countryside settings, bustling markets and friendly faces. Alix has a refreshing style of doing business and we were delighted to sit down for a cuppa with him and Belle (the terrier).

Strictly Business

First and foremost why did you choose to join Mr and Mrs Clarke?
They champion the home owner and have the best marketing ever. They’re a really talented bunch!

Favourite type of property?
I really like conversions. Be it an old mill, barn, or factory. The thought of a building having a new lease of life is really compelling. I used to live in a converted chapel which had been beautifully adapted and still retained the original pews, stained glass windows, flooring and celling roses.

Your Mr and Mrs Clarke highlight so far?
Working with all the lovely people there. From all the partners, the concierge team, the amazing marketing and design department to Mr & Mrs Clarke themselves. Everyone has such a positive attitude and determination to make a difference.

Other than Market Harborough what is your favourite town?
Bellano on the shore of lake Como. There’s not many tourists there and the cobbled narrow streets are stunning. In the centre there’s a square right next to the church and its the perfect place for an espresso and slice of cake.

A little more personal…

Tea or Coffee?
Both. My go to is always a gingerbread latte but now im working from home I’m addicted to Roobios, honey and fig tea at the moment.

Early bird or night owl?
Early bird in the week, night owl at the weekend.

What 3 items would I always find in your fridge?
Wine, about ten varieties of cheese, and limes.

What was your first job?
I was a waiter at The White Swan in Harringworth. I must have only been 14 when I started but it was a great time and worked there for years in the end.

Last series you binge-watched?
Line of Duty, I love a crime series. I’d missed the first three series and watched them all pretty much back to back!

Which website do you visit the most?
Probably Bremont; a British watchmaker that make amazing chronometers. I’m a bit of a watch geek and a huge fan. Hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to have one on my wrist soon!
