Quiet idyll of rural bliss

Sitting proudly above the town of Cwmbran in the once small village of Henllys is a cluster of lovely homes and a strong community. An executive selection of homes that nestles neatly into the side of Twm-Barlwm mountain. Henllys, or “Old Court” in English came about because a travelling magistrate would hold sessions at the courthouse presiding over cases of people being accused of rustling sheep or cattle.

Tranquil surrounds, views and the countryside is everywhere you look, makes this a great spot for exploring and taking in the fresh air around every corner. There are good looking homes too. Head upwards 419 metres and you reach the top of the Twmp where you can survey Newport Risca and much further over the Bristol channel.

...and good vibes!

On the warmest of days, we recommend heading to The Dorallt that’s just a few minutes away and would be your local. Sip on a pint of IPA in the 18th-century inn or watch the kids play in the park opposite while you have a natter with friends over a latte.

Well connected? Despite feeling the countryside vibe you are still well connected here. Newport and Cwmbran are a 10 minute drive away. The M4 nips past to Bristol or Cardiff and in 2 hours you’re in London, Cardiff is a mere 25 mins away; Bristol 35 mins. If the train is more you, then the station in Cwmbran whisks you off to Birmingham in just under 3 hours.
