Just four miles from Central London (hop on the Northern Line or bus and it’s a mere 10-minute ride, or walk there in just 30 minutes), Kentish Town is superbly well connected both underground and overground with a great train service, as you would expect. And, if you need to venture beyond London every now and again, the M1 is around 20 minutes away by car.
This characterful district of London has an incredibly vibrant community with an abundance of independent shops, good cafés and eateries. Renowned bakery, GAIL’s, is just on your doorstep whenever you fancy a croissant and speciality coffee. The restaurant scene is strong, with all cuisines and tastebuds catered for. You may even bump into the likes of Tom Hiddlesdon, who also calls Kentish Town home, when you’re out and about.
Marvel in fantastic views of London at nearby Parliament Hill. Hampstead Heath, with its beautiful outdoor spaces, is just a leisurely 15-minute walk, as is Camden Town. And, in Kentish Town itself, you’re in the heart of the Bartholomew Estate Conservation Area. Head to Parliament Hill Lido for all year round outdoor swimming, or to the Montpelier ‘hidden’ Gardens for plenty of green space. And, for live entertainment in Art Deco surroundings, the O2 Forum with its eclectic programme is right here.
There is a fabulous choice of schools in the vicinity, including the Ofsted Outstanding Torriano Primary School and Kentish Town Primary School. The Camden School for Girls and Collège Français Bilingue are both in catchment, and The Henrietta Barnett School, rated in the top 1% of secondary schools nationwide, is close by, along with a range of Outstanding secondary schools.
