Stowe

Idyllic charm...

Stowe is the Hamlet setting, but Barholm & Stowe is the civil parish in this Lincolnshire spot. You’re almost in the heart of rural farmland, but with all the practicalities and amenities of nearby towns such as the divine Georgian market town Stamford, Bourne, Market Deeping and Barholm, which all offer their own individuality and quaintness. Peterborough, with its beautiful Cathedral and grounds is your nearest city, with London Kings Cross a speedy train journey from there.

In and around Stowe you really are spoilt for choice with Burghley House, The George, Stamford and The Five Horsehoes, Barholm, offering dining and drinks for a variety of moods.

...Friendly vibes

Feeling energetic? Head over to Tallington Lakes for water sports and a dry-ski slope or head out to Barnack Hills & Holes for a good dose of vitamin D. The Hills and Holes mark the site of a medieval quarry and this site of Special Scientific Interest is one of Britain’s most important wildlife sites. Peterborough’s Ferry Meadows is only a short drive away for more outdoor endeavours, perhaps ending the eve with a sample or two of the latest beer on tap at Stoneworks.

With a local shop, hairdressers and post office on your doorstep, you can enjoy the quiet life in Stowe, relaxed in the knowledge that with exceptional schools, such as Bourne Grammar (founded in 1330), and delightful waterholes like The Millstone at Barnack, there is something for every family member.
