Structon's Heath

Structon's Heath

A glorious past

The rolling countryside around the tiny hamlet of Structon’s Heath is what you fall in love with. The rural setting of this pretty village makes you feel far from the hustle and bustle of life but you are close to so many small village hubs and there is great access to Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and the road networks. We think it is a beautiful place to call home and we have fallen for the charm of the people and the lifestyle.
Like with so many things, let’s start with a drink. The Bell is an award winning pub that is renowned for the beer, the banter and the bar food. The pub was built by a chap called John Joseph Jones, who also commissioned the building of the clock tower at Abberley Hall. Mr Jones was the person about whom the phrase “keeping up with the Joneses” was first applied – now there is a piece of local trivia.
Other famous local residents include Royals (although a long time ago) at Witley Court. The romantic ruin is now run by English Heritage.
Great Witley is the closest village and it is an idyllic little country hub with every amenity you need. Doctors’ surgery, a church with tearooms and the village hall, behind which is a children’s playground and a multi- purpose tennis and sports’ court. A post office and garage both offer grocery and general store provisions and nearby are farm shops and butchers offering local vegetables, fruit and meat.

Free access to Witley Court House and Gardens for all residents... now that is a good perk

It is well placed for the Wyre Forest towns of Stourport on Severn, Bewdley, Kidderminster, the cathedral city of Worcester, around 10 miles away and Droitwich Spa. The area is served by NHS hospitals in Worcester, Kidderminster and Tenbury and private ones in Worcester and Droitwich Spa.
Under 2 miles away is the popular Great Witley C.E primary school, which offers before and after school provision. Ofsted rated it as a ‘good school with outstanding pupil behaviour’. Orchard Corner lies within the catchment area of the highly regarded Chantry School at Martley, some 5 miles away, with school bus transport available.Nearby independent schools include the Abberley Hall Preparatory School, Winterfold House Preparatory School, Bromsgrove School, The Kings School and Royal Grammar School in Worcester.
