Swannington lies within easy access to the A511 between junction 22 of the M1 motorway and the A42 dual carriageway, linking with the M42 South-West towards Birmingham. The area is well served with further road links to Leicester, Derby and Nottingham, and connects to East Midlands Parkway Railway Station and Nottingham East Midlands Airport with ease. The village itself lies between Coalville and Ashby-de-la-Zouch which both offer a range of brilliant independent shops, facilities and amenities.
