Welford-on-Avon

Local Life

Badgers Close sits in the heart of Welford on Avon, a highly sought after village with a wonderfully welcoming and friendly feel. You’ll discover a whole host of events on in the village thoroughout the year and there’s a wonderfully laid back and relaxed vibe, along with picturesque views and an array of lovely walks.

There’s a primary school with an excellent reputation and even includes a nursery and afterschool clubs.

With three pubs in the village, you’re spoilt for choice! The Four Alls is our favourite, which overlooks the river by the bridge as you enter the village which is lovely in the summertime, plenty of outdoor seating and a pizza oven. Heaven! The traditional Bell Inn is an award winning restaurant and is perfect in the winter with its cosy log burners and amazing Sunday roasts.

It is said that this was the last place William Shakespeare drank before walking home in the rain back to Stratford! There’s also the family friendly Shakespeare Pub which has just changed hands and hosts live music events, a bouncy castle at the weekends and happy hour.

There’s a lovely deli & butchers in the village, well stocked with everything you could need. The Avon river is very accessible and perfect for paddleboarding or canoeing down to nearby Stratford.

Well Connected

Well connected? Extremely so. Welford offers great bus links to Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding villages. School buses are well serviced here too, stopping for the Grammar Schools, Warwick Private Schools, Stratford High School and Chipping Campden High School.

There’s a memorial hall where there’s an array of social events during the year including a lively sing-a-long on Christmas Eve. Welford is also home to one of the tallest Maypoles in the country and the local school put on a lovely Maypole evening at the end of May for the whole village to enjoy!
