The flow of the home is perfect for busy family life.

Over the last few years, an award-winning architect and interior designer has remodelled this wonderful home into a truly contemporary approach to space, light and family living that has a calming and peaceful energy.

The entrance hall opens to an expansive staircase that leads up to the first floor. Off the hall, the living room has been designed to be a place to kick back and relax, European Oak flooring, tasteful material choices and Little Green paint pairings set this tone. The room opens onto the private garden through the hardwood doors.

A stunning open-plan kitchen and dining space sit effortlessly in the middle of the home making it the hub and the most social space. The cabinetry pairs painted shaker units with a beautiful maple worktop and incorporates several integrated appliances. Perrin and Rowe taps feature on the under-mount Catalano sink that overlooks the front of the house. Enjoy brunch at the large peninsular breakfast bar, and sit down for supper together at the dining table whilst you catch up on the day. Quality family time, done.

There is also a wonderfully organised open pantry, that is a dream to look at and you can fill it with everything you need to create a culinary masterpiece. This space is bathed in wonderful levels of natural light care of doors that lead out onto the garden, breaking down the boundaries between inside and out and where tranquillity and serenity envelop you.

The utility room is one of the largest we’ve seen with enough storage for everyday essentials and it connects you to the garage. It’s got the flexibility to house a car or be used for additional storage if desired. The ground floor also benefits from another spacious room that could easily be used as a bedroom or a home office, there’s also a handy WC on this floor too.

Upstairs has been purposely designed to take on the rigours of modern life with Three bedrooms one with a spacious ensuite and a family bathroom. The spacious main bedroom radiates design flair and boasts dual-aspect windows. Its ensuite bathroom is modern, with a sizeable walk-in rainfall shower. Here’s where you can have your own mini Hamman experience, as there’s a heated bench to sit on. The chic limestone tiles on the walls and floors are gorgeous, and we just love the stunning reeded glass privacy panel. The two additional bedrooms, meanwhile, are all spacious and filled with light.

A gorgeous freestanding bath with floor-mounted taps demands attention in the generous family bathroom. If you can bear not to bathe every once in a while, there’s also an impressive walk-in rainfall shower with a reeded glass privacy panel, designer lighting and limestone tiled floors and walls, it’s just the perfect place to unwind.

Outside, the pretty, lawned garden offers a perfect spot to enjoy a little time al fresco and is low maintenance, planted with trees and shrubs, mirroring the front and perfect for hosting family get-togethers. There is parking for a few cars out the front too.

The quality of the materials used, attention to detail, and the thought that's been given to family routines make this a wonderful home for the discerning family.

Close to the city

This great little village on the outskirts of Newport is the perfect mix of countryside and accessibility. There is a friendly community and lots going on for the whole family.

Sitting pretty on the edge of Newport, and not to far from Machen you can nipping into Morrisons in Rogerstone in minutes or enjoying a pint at The Rhiwderin Inn. Phil, Angelina have just taken over the pub in December and their vision is to keep everything that ‘The Inn’ is loved for, namely good homemade food, a warm welcome and a cosy local. We salute you guys.

We love the village of Rudry and love strolling around the leafy lanes. If we need fresh air then we head to Bassaleg for a dog walk and soak up the rolling countryside. Stop off at the stylish restaurant Junction 28 in a former railway station with a Modern British menu, plus Welsh cheeses. Heaven!

Bassaleg school is one of the best in the area and Pentrepoeth Primary is 5 star too.
