Mr Clarke thinks :
This gorgeously laid out home is somewhere where everyone can thrive.
Beautiful river views which are so close you could touch. In the high tide, you literally feel like you're on the boat, floating away on River Usk. Nicely located within walking distance to town, you can start your day with a lush coffee from downstairs and end it with a stronger drink after work. There’s a great amount of cool pubs nearby. A gym, swimming pool, cinema and all of the restaurants are on your doorstep.
Even though Devonia House is in a super central location, it feels like a sanctuary. The charming interiors are light and airy. All the colours in the apartment are based on the much loved Farrow & Ball palette. After all, the current owners are two designers so you’re sure to get some inspiration whilst looking around. This flat is super versatile - the interiors have been changed every 6 months or so - why not let your imagination run wild?
This two-bedroom home has been lovingly cared for and is ready to move straight in. As you enter, the welcoming hallway sets the scene for the rest of the home. Clean, neat and tidy. At the end of the corridor, the homes opens into the open plan kitchen which has been made only a year ago. Here you have all the built-in appliances to make life comfortable. If you follow interior trends, you might realise that the kitchen is painting in Pantone’s colour of the year 2019: coral. It feels warm and cosy in here, whilst having enough floorspace to do plenty of activities.
The generously sized peninsula makes for a great dining table for hosting friends, a breakfast bar to catch up with family over a cuppa, and an office which we all know is useful. The living room is bright, where the light streams in through the double french doors. The Juliette balcony is a wonderful place to watch the world go by, or on a hot summer’s day you can always throw them open and let the fresh air in, if you’re not frolicking on the rivers edge. All integrated furniture is bespoke, including the fixed floating TV cabinet where you can store all your gaming consoles, board games and prized possessions.
Mrs Clarke loves :
The beautiful waterside views of the city we love.
Now for the relaxing sleeping spaces. Let’s start with the main bedroom. It has two good size wardrobes with little shelves on the side for your book or cuppa and the bed is a fixed 'floating' double so you’ll feel like you’re in a luxury hotel suite. The second bedroom is currently used as a cosy cinema and gaming room with two floating single beds to maximize the space. This is another great break out space if you want some peace and quiet from the sociable living room.
The bathroom is modern, and is a perfect place for an evening soak after a busy day. This is an excellent home for you, your family and your friends!
- Design Features : The whole home is in great condition, and has been thoughtfully designed.
- Style : Fresh and neutral with interesting interior decor pieces. You can put your own stamp on it!
- Three words : Location. Bright. Space.
Our favourite part
Amazing views over Newport.
The friendly hustle and bustle...
You have the best of both worlds…Friars walk shopping centre is on your doorstep which hosts a gym, Cineworld, all the restaurants you could dream of, as well as a museum! The variety of architecture is inspiring; you can’t miss the uber cool university building.
Watching the water flow through town day and night is definitely one of our favourite past times. Golden hour never looked so pretty. In the day, you can watch all the comings and goings of wildlife and people. Amongst the riverside cafes and restaurants you’ll come across Jack in Quarters Coffee who serves a wicked one whatever the weather. Mr Clarke’s favourite is The Pod for one of their speciality gins. Be sure to say hi to Oli & Paul who are the lovely owners.
On the other side of you, you have Belle Vue park where you can grab a picnic and catch up with pals on the lush lawns. If you’re into rugby or football, then you’ll be pleased to know that Rodney Parade isn’t that far away. Sometimes if the winds blowing in the right direction, you can hear the cheers of the crowds.
Who needs a car when you have everything in walking distance? Newport train station is a few minutes away, so you can be well on your way to a further afield adventure in no time. Other things that are nice to know are nearby; the hospital, car parks for when visitors come to stay, passport office for when you want to jet off, and all the major supermarket brands. If you have little ones, Maindee Primary School is a great choice.
