The perfect blend of character and modernisation.

The Fields Manor & Chestnut House.

The Fields Manor is an enchanting six-bedroom property dating back to 1864. The internal accommodation is split over four levels and is an exquisite example of a period renovation. The Art & Crafts, Victorian and Jacobean architecture has been painstakingly restored by craftsmen, and the interior has been sympathetically brought up to modern tastes with lots of stylish additions by artisans and interior designers. The scale and light within has an ethereal feel, which emanates from the vast atrium through the core of the house. There is a rich history to the building and it is ready for its next chapter.

Chestnut House is a brand new six-bedroom property combining dramatic, light-filled spaces with elegant materials and examples of outstanding craftsmanship at every point. The entrance hall opens on to a handcrafted bespoke oak staircase that leads up to the first and second floor. The reception rooms on the ground floor are cleverly conceived, allowing light to pour in from glazing on all sides and from above, through sky-lights and the vast open hall. Early opportunity to secure this modern new build.

Fields Park Road is one of the finest addresses in the area. The Fields Manor was once owned by merchants linked to the docks, who brought prosperity to the area. The Grade II listed Manor held ownership of the land across this part of the city and lent its name to many of the buildings and businesses that are now there. Fields Park Residences sits proudly at the heart of the community and will be a wonderful place to call home.

The Fields Manor is accessed via a set of electric gates and surrounded by mature trees and landscaped gardens. On the ground floor, there is a vast reception hall, drawing room, morning room, orangery, kitchen/dining room and cloakroom. The cellars below are divided into several rooms including a utility, wine cellar and cinema room. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three further bedrooms are arranged on the second floor, one with an outdoor terrace, two bathrooms and a top tower room. An award-winning new build double garage and studio which has bi-fold doors and sits across a from the Manor house.

Chestnut House is a brand new 6 bedroom property with a modern approach to space, light and luxury living. Internal accommodation extends to nearly 4,500 sq ft and is set across three levels. The ground floor is centred by a handsome oak staircase and a bright hall. There is a big living room, an open-plan kitchen/dining room, which spreads across the back of the house and opens onto a landscaped gardens. A utility room and double garage provide practical spaces. Six bedrooms are split between the first and second floors, each has access to its own bathroom.

Beechwood Newport

A collection of greenery in Newport

Beechwood Newport

This area of the city is a typical victorian suburb, only a few miles out from the city centre and sits in between two main arteries of the city, lying at the foot of the Christchurch Hill. Beechwood Park is right on your doorstep so you can look forward to weekend strolls in crunchy-leaf Autumn through to summery picnic days. If you want to indulge, head to the 5 star luxury Celtic Manor (which is a five-minute drive away up Christchurch) to top up on your golf skills, or pamper yourself with a facial and relax in the jacuzzi.

Kitting out your new home will be easy if you go and speak to Paul in Beechwood Beds, and if its a candle you’re after then he has plenty of these too. If your taste in furniture is somewhat more vintage the Umbrella Project has loads of pieces ready painted in Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey which is just down the road in Maindee. It’s worth making a morning of treasure hunting here to be honest! Pretty much next door is what is fast becoming an icon – especially if you have a sweet tooth – Beth Bakes. The most delicious cakes and sweet things…bring a rucksack.

Newport’s more established food icon, Palfrey’s is a stone throw away, where the Beef Wellington prepared by butcher Mark will become a weekly staple. If you like Middle Eastern cuisine then Sen BBQ fights for supremacy in our house…which I’m sure is the same in many homes across the city. You get to know the coffee shop owners here, and everyone is super friendly, so you will feel welcomed for sure.

Maindee is served by some cracking primary schools; Eveswell, and St Julians Comprehensive is not too far away either.
You’re well connected here too. There’s plenty of great transport links throughout the city so when Christmas shopping calls, you don’t need the headache of finding somewhere to park. If you’re heading further afield, turn onto Chepstow Road and you can be on the M4 within a few minutes, or head northeast from there and the countryside awaits at Wentwood Forest – wonderful!
