Ben thinks:
The formal garden, meadow and woodland areas are perfect for the kids and dogs to run wild.

Filled to the brim with discerning features, Silverwood sits pretty within a gated community of four properties in around 1.5 acres of private meadow.

Ben loves:
The character features, high specification and flexible spaces.

As well as having the biggest footprint of them all (plus around 1.5 acres of private meadow to step out into), Silverwood also comes with its own separate and self-contained, fully functioning contemporary apartment for guests, extended family or lucky teenagers. It could also be used as a working from home spot, or you could even put up a projector, make some popcorn and have it as a seriously posh den. Flexibility and functionality of the spaces are a real highlight of this home, so is being in such a secure community.

The whole property has been completely and lovingly refurbished in the past 18 months and the main home is characterful and welcoming. It has wonderfully unique features you won’t find anywhere else, like the brickwork archways and beams that are so beautifully intact and exquisitely brought to life in Farrow & Ball hues and set off perfectly by all new flooring throughout.

Step inside and head through the gorgeous brick arch and find a space where you can jump onto the sofa, curl up in front of the brand new multi fuel burner, and catch up on your shows. The triple aspect windows make a wonderful backdrop for a dinner party, and there’s room for a large dining table here. The two sets of French doors look across the garden and field so you can spill out under the pergola-covered patio to star gaze, listening to the babbling of a brand new water feature. In fact all the doors, patio doors and windows have been replaced with brand new, hand painted solid oak, double glazed units, affording you pristine views onto your private patios and courtyard, a budding orchard and wild-flower meadow, natural wildlife pond, as well as a well stocked garden to enjoy. The sun works its way all around the south-west facing property during the day, providing sunlight and shade in abundance.

Pick some herbs from your very own kitchen garden and head through to the hand-painted kitchen. This is a smart, modern country kitchen where we can imagine cooking up soup on the Aga City from scratch in the winter, or doing homework all together as a family at the bespoke island unit. The granite worktops, brand new appliances and internal glazing feature - linking the kitchen with the hallway - give the home a fresh, contemporary feel whilst retaining all of its character and warmth. The beauty of this home is that everyone can have their own space if they wish, but it also accommodates for when the family wants to be social.

Climb the wide staircase and find the stunning main bedroom with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. It feels like a sanctuary up here with views to the west over uninterrupted countryside, so you can watch the comings and goings of wildlife and seasons. The separate and newly installed ensuite-come-dressing room, resplendent with gorgeous roll-top bath, makes this feel like a glamorous hotel suite. What’s not to love? The second double bedroom across the landing has a through-room which can be used as a study, further bedroom or dressing space, or even a reading/library area. The family bathroom with a large walk in shower is usefully placed between the two sleeping spaces.

Across the courtyard, the triple garage block has space for multiple cars and tools, or dozens of bikes, as well as having the apartment above it. Budding artists or designers may even find this is the perfect studio space, whilst there is a handy cloakroom for use when gardening. One of the garages is a large utility room with all the appliances and storage space you’ll need. Through its own private front door, inside the fully refurbished second home upstairs you find 2 double bedrooms, each offering great views over the mature gardens - one has the added bonus of vaulted ceilings, the other fitted wardrobes. The brand new kitchen and bathroom, which has a large walk in shower, really make this apartment sparkle.

This really is the life: secluded gardens and meadow, a private inner courtyard with two buildings either side, over an acre and a half of land, and copious amounts of space to relax or potter in the greenhouse. Whilst wandering in the meadow, be sure to explore the bluebell wood, the wild-flower meadow and the summerhouse. And make sure you stay long enough to watch the sunset over Baddesley Clinton, behind the gorgeous, ancient oak at the far end of the meadow. Located close to Knowle, Warwick, Lapworth - and in area for Lapworth Surgery - as well as many country walks, perhaps down to Haywood Wood or nearby National Trust properties, this is truly a dream of a property.

Baddesley Clinton

A rich history

Baddesley Clinton

Baddesley Clinton is a stunning hamlet on the edge of Knowle. In 1850 the Poor Clares arrived from Bruges in Belgium to establish the first Convent of Poor Clares in Baddesley Clinton where they lived and worked until very recently. The Convent has been converted to homes but the pretty church still remains. Baddesley Clinton itself is a pretty little hamlet with a super pub called The Orange Tree – it is not your average village pub, it is all trendy pizzas, prosecco and craft beer (very Mrs Clarke). There is a teepee in the garden, friendly staff and glamorous locals.

There is a National Trust property, which is great for Sunday breakfast as well as a hit of culture. The surrounding villages of Lapworth, Rowington, Dorridge and Knowle are all lovely and have everything from artisan bakeries to Tesco.

Baddesley Clinton is possible the best connected place in the UK – seriously! You have Birmingham International Airport within twenty minutes to whizz you to your second home in Spain or to go skiing from Geneva. Dorridge Station will get you into Brum or London. Birmingham International station will get you to Euston in an hour and a bit. Then there is the M42, M5, M40 and M1 all super close.

Leamington, Warwick and Stratford are within twenty minutes or head the other way and you are in Solihull for some retail therapy in fifteen mins. I told you that you were well connected. However when you are sat in the garden you feel far from the maddening crowds and your are surrounded by nature and lovely local folk.

Once home to The Poor Clares now home to wealthy residents!
