The small village of Packington certainly packs a punch in the community stakes, from its traditional fairs to flower festivals and duck races. It has its own village store, pub, primary school and village hall, where you’ll find a lively range of events. Wherever you go, you can expect a warm and friendly welcome.

This charming village located in the heart of Leicestershire, offers a delightful blend of rural living and modern amenities. With its tranquil surroundings, friendly community, and excellent transport links, it’s no wonder that Packington is a sought-after location for families, professionals, and retirees alike.

As well as the village primary school, there are several well-regarded junior and secondary schools in the area, including Ashby School. And the Jubilee Wood, which marked the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Of Queen Elizabeth II, is a fantastic 10-mile loop from the village itself. Perfect for little – and not so little – legs of any age.

In fact, there are plenty of opportunities for exploration, as the village is surrounded by breathtaking countryside with a plethora of walking and cycling trails to discover. Additional attractions include the National Forest, Ashby Canal and the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.

Try the 17th century Bull and Lion pub in the village for locally sourced food and a very special beer – Rood Awakening, named after the nearby Hold Rood Church – brewed to their own recipe.

The village store is fondly known as ‘Little Harrods’. Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered daily from markets and farms across the local area, and they take meat orders for local butchers. On Wednesday you’ll find fresh fish, and you can even pick up your dry cleaning twice a week. It’s great for hardware too and all kinds of household essentials. No wonder it’s the little gem of the village.

Packington is close to bustling Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and within a stone’s throw of this market town’s pubs and restaurants scene. Ashby also has an M&S and various large supermarkets, including a 24hr store. Well connected, Packington boasts easy access to rail and road networks, such as the M1 and M42, as well as the nearby towns of Tamworth, and Leicester. For those commuting further afield, East Midlands Airport is just a short drive away.
