Is it possible to fall in love at first sight? We certainly think so. Downfield is a heady mix of beautiful design, six spacious bedrooms and impressive grounds. There’s no compromise to be made here.
The tree-lined driveway sweeps up through the expanse of wraparound gardens towards this very special home, where you’ll find the first of two double garages and plentiful parking.
With its generous footprint, there’s oodles of space. Just under 2,900 sq. ft, spread over three floors. This layout provides the ultimate flexibility. In short, it can be tailored exactly to meet your family’s individual lifestyle. You could even choose to extend further, should you wish, subject to the usual consents of course.
Attention to detail throughout is second to none, and, as you enter the spacious entrance hall, you’ll discover the finish simply oozes quality.
A full range of glossy white cabinetry contrasts against the black granite worktops in the breakfast kitchen. Appliances are integrated, and there’s a large dining space too, ideal for a midweek supper, leading into the sunny conservatory. We love the open plan aspect to this space, which flows seamlessly towards the patio doors leading out to the garden.
The utility room keeps everything in order, and there’s a great walk-in pantry for provisions. Meanwhile, the large downstairs cloakroom is handy for guests and family alike.
There’s an additional dining room with lovely views out onto the lawn. This would make a gorgeous snug or playroom too. Curl up in front of the fireplace in the living room on the chilliest of nights and, on warmer days, throw open the patio doors to the garden and breathe in the fresh spring air.
A bespoke staircase leads up to the principal suite, with its own dressing room and en suite bathroom incorporating double basins and shower. Views take in the gorgeous garden beyond. You’ll find three additional bedrooms on this floor and a family bathroom with large shower.
On the second floor, there’s a further bedroom and a guest bedroom with en suite, featuring a bath with shower. Enjoy the vista from the balcony with a cup of coffee and the papers.
An acre of well-maintained gardens is home to a blend of both structured beds and expanses of wild flowers. Biodiversity is well and truly alive, showcased by the display of butterflies and nature you’ll find here. It’s a tranquil space where young and old can kick back and relax, and potter around happily for hours.
You could be forgiven for thinking you’ve been transported into a novel as you discover the sunken secret garden. It’s Japanese in style and the Zen is palpable with just the trickle of a gentle waterfall playing in the background, soothing the senses. Escapism goals, perfected.
When it comes to entertaining, the capacious patio is the place to be. It’s sun-drenched too, thanks to its south-easterly position. A pretty pergola provides a further outdoor seating space and is the ideal spot for a sundowner or two.
The second double garage takes the form of a timber outbuilding by the rather magical dell. This offers huge potential to be transformed into a gym, studio, workshop or home office. The dell features split level decking which lends itself to an outdoor kitchen or hot tub, and is a wonderful al fresco space to enjoy.

Jordans
Local life
Jordans is a picture perfect village set in the heart of the Chilterns with a strong community vibe, nestled between the larger villages of Seer Green and Chalfont St Giles and just a short drive from the cosmopolitan towns of Beaconsfield and Amersham.
Jordans is famous as the home of the Quakers, the resting place of William Penn – the founder of Pennsylvania, and the Mayflower Barn, made from ship timbers claimed to be from the Mayflower itself.
The surrounding villages are filled with fantastic country pubs and nearby Beaconsfield and Amersham provide lots of upmarket restaurants, boutiques, cafes and wine bars. There are countryside walks aplenty and a tennis club.
It’s commuter heaven with direct and fast train links (under 30 minutes) into London and easy access onto the M40 and M25. No wonder that the village is a closely guarded secret by discerning residents! There’s a local bus service too.
If you fancy a coffee to go, along with fresh bread and pastries, the Village Store has it all. It’s been at the heart of the community for a centenary and has all the essentials, plus fresh fruit and veg and even Ecover refill stations. There’s a pop up post office every Thursday or head down to the next village of Seer Green if you’re in a hurry.
The Jolly Quaker is the village pop up pub. And the Jolly Cricketers and The Horseshoes are fantastic for good food and drinks at any time of the week.
We love the strong sense of community here, showcased by the summer fair, sports day, cricket matches and an annual supper to commemorate the founding of the village. There’s even a monthly award-winning cinema club ‘Jordans Picture House’ when the big screen calls.
You’ll find a Waitrose and Sainsbury’s in nearby Beaconsfield and, of course, Ocado deliveries are on tap.
When it comes to nurseries and schools, there’s a nursery in the village and Jordans Primary School, rated Ofsted ‘Excellent’, is just a short stroll away. The Buckinghamshire grammar school system provides an outstanding range of options at senior level, and there are several independent schools in the vicinity as well.
