Mike thinks:
The garden is simply made for entertaining, with your very own hot-tub and outdoor bar!

This breathtaking 1930's semi detached home, just a stone's throw from bustling Newport, immediately catches your eye and beckons you in with its stunning façade and expansive driveway.

Mike loves:
The interior design is stunning and every detail has been carefully thought through.

Stepping into the entrance hall, you're immediately transported to a world of understated elegance. The dark wood floor and contemporary wallpaper make for a sublime welcome, while lush carpets and a picture rail further add to the charm.

Straight ahead lies the heart of the home - a shaker style kitchen overlooking the lush garden. Beautiful grey units are complemented by dark wood block worktops and sandstone style floor tiles, while integrated appliances make meal prep a breeze which the resident chef will adore. Step into the living dining space and you'll be enveloped in a serene, tranquil atmosphere. The interplay of light and dark is masterfully executed here, with light walls and dark floors creating a perfect balance of yin and yang.

This is not just a space, but a sanctuary where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Take a deep breath and let your worries melt away as you sink into a plush sofa, surrounded by understated elegance.

The dual aspect of the room adds to its allure, allowing natural light to flood in from multiple angles. And if that's not enough, there are two fireplaces to keep you warm and cosy on chilly evenings. The brick-lined fireplace and log burner provide the perfect backdrop for snuggling up with a good book or enjoying a glass of wine with loved ones. This is not just a living space, but a place to connect with those closest to you, and create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come.

As you make your way up the stairs, three generously proportioned bedrooms are waiting to envelop you in their cosy embrace, each one boasting its own unique charm and character. The main bedroom is a true oasis of calm, with built-in storage on either side of the fire breast painted in deep, luxurious navy. There's even room for a comfortable sofa to stretch out on and soak in the natural light pouring in from the large bay window.

At the front of the house lie two more bedrooms, each one a haven of peace and tranquility. The larger of the two boasts high ceilings and cool grey walls and carpet, creating a soothing ambiance that will lull you into a deep and restful sleep.

But the real surprise awaits in the form of a drop-down ladder leading up to the large loft room. This expansive space is the perfect hideaway for kids or a guest bedroom, with ample room to spread out and relax.

A generous family bathroom sits towards the rear of the home with a WC, vanity sink, shower and large bath tub, the perfect spot for a long soak. Deep blue paint adorns the walls, exuding luxury, while added shelving and plenty of storage space makes this space wonderfully practical too.

As you step outside, you'll find that the cool and stylish vibe of the interior extends to the exterior as well. The outdoor area is a haven for relaxation and entertainment, offering a variety of features that will appeal to both kids and adults.

First up, there's the bar - a chic and sophisticated addition that will make any gathering a memorable one. Sip on cocktails or enjoy a cold beer as you soak up the sun and enjoy the company of friends and family.

For those seeking a bit more relaxation, there's the hot tub - the ultimate way to unwind after a long day. Let the warm, soothing waters wash away your stress and worries, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

And for the little ones, there's plenty of green grass to run around and play on. Let them run wild and burn off some energy as you watch from the comfort of the bar or hot tub.

Christchurch

Top of the town

Christchurch

Sitting and having a delicious cup of coffee watching the sunrise from Christchurch Viewpoint, I think to myself “life doesn’t get much better than this”. I’ve been for a run, I’ve got a game of golf booked at Celtic later and dinner is booked at Greyhound Inn this evening. Everything is OK.

Christchurch village has a life enhancing vibe about it – everyone is friendly, the views are incredible, you are close to to town but can be in the deep countryside in moments. This is the best of both worlds and we love living here. The schools are sought after, we can be zipping around for work on the M4 easily or jumping on a train within minutes. I challenge anyone to tell me that there is a better place to live…

Christchurch (or as my very local friends call it, Eglwys y Drindod) is a village located at the top of Christchurch Hill in Caerleon community. The top of the hill gifts us panoramic views both towards the Bristol Channel in the south and through the Vale of Usk and into the Monmouthshire countryside to the north. The road, which runs along the crest of the hill, runs westwards to Newport and eastwards towards Caerleon and Catsash.

Oliver Cromwell once stood up here and planned his attack on Newport Castle. You will now find well heeled locals sipping a flat white at Wilson+Bay and talking about the property prices.
