Mr Clarke thinks :
Get the boys around and let’s put the football on.

No. 1 New Hampton Lofts is a New York style loft apartment that sets the standard for city living. This large one bedroom, first floor pad has been newly decorated and modified to the highest standards by craftsmen and interior designers. The result is a Jewellery Quarter apartment that you will be proud to call home.

The loft is larger than most city centre apartments because of the high ceilings and clever layout. When you walk in you are blown away by the volume and how the the epic windows flood the space with natural light. The exposed girders are a nod to the origins of the building, creating a wonderful sense of history and place. What sets this apartment apart is the quality of the work the current owner has carried out. A curved, dividing wall has replaced a partition between the living space and bedroom, which creates two distinct areas; living and sleeping.

It is a simple design but a very clever one. The decoration is clean and simple, allowing a new owner to personalise the space with their own style. Every little detail has been considered from the high end, brushed steel dimmer light switches, cast iron radiators, hardwood flooring to the stunning, chic bathroom tiling.

Mrs Clarke loves :
I will be the envy of all my friends in this apartment. Midweek dinner parties and weekend after parties.

This place is pretty damn cool. If you live in the Jewellery Quarter you need a living space that can host a party but can also be quiet and cosy and well away from the stresses of city life. New Hampton Lofts offers both.

Party mode is lights dimmed, people drinking around the kitchen and floating island, guests dancing in-front of the windows overlooking the city like they don’t care and chilled types chatting on the sofas by the fire. Relax mode is a little more low key with the electric blinds down to block the city from view, the wall mounted fire roaring and a movie on the TV. Or maybe it is a few close friends gathered around a large dining table whilst you cook up a feast in the high end Cooke and Lewis kitchen with black granite worktops. Whatever you do in the apartment it is a great home. The bedroom is large and dramatic. The electric blinds can cover the big windows, or they can be left open as you aren't overlooked when you are in bed.

The high ceilings add a sense of drama to the bedroom and because there is a big dressing room you can keep your sleeping space clutter free to ensure a peaceful nights sleep. A dressing room is a must for any stylish city slicker. You need the rails for weekday and weekend wardrobes, you have got to have the shelves for all of those shoes and you cant live without the extra space for hats, bags, gym kit and make up. Some apartment bathrooms are a little shabby and require some love. Not this one. No expense has been spared on creating a boutique style bathroom. The dark tiling makes this bathroom more like a five star hotel than a normal room to wash in.There is one more very important space in the apartment. A storage cupboard. This may sound ridiculous, but the storage cupboard allows the hoover, cleaning products, tennis rackets, spare light bulbs and filing to be neatly housed out of sight, thus allowing a serene living space to relax or party in.

Summary :

  • Setting :  The coolest part of a great city.
  • Three words :  Pretty Damn Cool.

Our favourite part
The epic windows looking out across the city.

This city is not second best

Birmingham is hot right now. Businesses, small and very large, are flocking here, creative types are generating a buzz and independent shops, cafes and bars are on every corner. There are more Michelin stars than any other city outside of London and the mighty balti is brilliant. We Love Brum.
We also love a little fact so... Birmingham minister Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen in 1774. I suppose the city helping people breathe fresh clean air by having 571 parks totalling over 3,500 hectares of public open space (more than any other European city) and having the largest urban nature reserve in Europe is a pretty fitting tribute to the Mr Priestley. Ahhhh breathe!
Birmingham is enjoying a renaissance and it is easy to see why. There is a great feel to the city, employment is up, Grand Central Station is open and full of shoppers and commuters, the new Metro is nearly fully running and the place is alive with the sound of excitement. We Love Brum.

The Jewellery Quarter is surrounded by historic buildings harking back to an industrial age, there is a neighbourhood feel and a special atmosphere.
We love the Jewellery Quarter for its independent vibe and community feel.
The location of The Jewellery Quarter makes access to the CBD and City Centre quick and easy, with a short walk over the flyover (and a stop at Urban Coffee on Church Street). Conollys and Loki provide a plethora of wine selections and La Cuciana Rustica on Ludgate Hill just up the road serves the best Italian in town (in Mrs C's opinion).
The great thing about the area is that it is continuing to grow. The opportunities for businesses and homeowners to thrive is ever growing. The area is well connected for commuting, but also enables a work life balance.

"Birmingham has a great feel to it. There are loads of cool things to see and do, there is a vibrant community and the people are lovely. We Love Brum."
