Mr Clarke thinks :
Fully renovated to an extremely high standard means I don’t have to do anything except kick back and relax!

It’s the incredible space and lovely light that make this house a home. When you explore this traditional period home, you’ll realise everything has been thought out in this home, and nothing has been spared. Quality craftsmanship, new carpets, beautifully calm colour palettes and smart storage. So what’s it really like to live in this home? “An absolute pleasure”, says the current homeowner.

Downstairs is bright and newly decorated. Everyone should have a personal space to escape to every now and then, and here you can have the choice of either the Sitting Room or Living Room. Both reception rooms have their unique personalities. The front room makes for a wonderful dining table and chairs. You can pop vinyls on, entertain guests and get merry. Next is the Living Room which has a gorgeously moody fireplace where you can light candles, grab a book and make this a cosy sanctuary. You can easily nip in to top up your cuppa as the galley kitchen is connected. White units, tiled flooring and smart grey worktops make this space a sophisticated and clean one. The bathroom is through here which is private and modern.

Mrs Clarke loves :
I’m a stroll away from town and everything that I love.

The under stairs cupboard is great for hanging up coats, storing a hoover or anything else you don’t want on display. Upstairs you’ll find two generous double bedrooms. We love the unique corners; they’re the perfect nooks and crannies to fit bed side tables in, or an indoor plant. They’re both great as a blank canvas so you can put your stamp into the place.

Outside is an easily maintainable garden which is bordered with planted pots and acts as a great secret garden away from the city. Welcome home.

Whether you’re a couple or a young family, downsize or looking to be a landlord, this home is truly lovely.

A collection of greenery and arts

The Maindee area of Newport is a culturally rich neighbourhood not far from the city centre. It has a vibrant arts scene, culminating in the Maindee festival held every July that brings together diversity through dance and performance arts. Beechwood Park, from the Victorian era, is right on your doorstep so it’s perfect for evening mindfulness strolls, or family picnics on the lazy weekend. If you love playing golf, being pampered or exquisite dining (or all of the above!) then you’ll be delighted to know that the 5 star Celtic Manor is not but a five minute drive away up Christchurch Road.

When you snap up your new home your first port of call should be Palfrey’s, where the Beef Wellington prepared by butcher Mark should become a weekly staple. If you like Middle Eastern cuisine then Valentine’s and Sen BBQ fight it for supremacy in our house.

Kitting out your new pad is also easy if you love the current trend in up-cycled furniture, the Umbrella Project has loads of pieces ready painted in Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey. This unique homeware shop is so different you just want to soak up every last drop of the eclectic style that’s in every corner. Pretty much next door is what is fast becoming an icon - especially if you have a sweet tooth - Beth Bakes. The most delicious cakes and sweet things...bring a rucksack.

The area is served by some cracking primary schools one of which is Welsh language and St Julians Comprehensive is not too far away either.

There’s plenty of great transport links throughout the city and head down Chepstow Road and you can be on the M4 within a few minutes or head northeast from there and the countryside awaits at Wentwood Forest.
