The interior is immaculate
The spacious and stylish apartment is spread over two floors of an Edwardian terrace. Thoughtfully renovated by the landlord, the apartment retains some of the features from a by gone age, mixed with more contemporary touches that you need in a modern home. Nestled towards the bottom end of Roath Mill Gardens, Number 50 is in the heart of the “village” of Penylan, and yes, it really does feel like one.
The entrance hall leads up to the large and light sitting room with an open fireplace. It's large enough for an impromptu gathering of friends, yet cosy enough for when you want to light the fire and curl up in front of the TV. Here you can gaze upon some wonderful views over the park. On this floor there’s also a bright bedroom and a further room which has perfectly formed French doors that open onto a small balcony letting you take in that morning fresh air. We think this would be a great home office to get creative in!

The location is perfect for us
A kitchen is the hub of every discerning home and this kitchen is a case in point. The light and airy space has been given a country cottage makeover and has a rather handy eating area and original Edwardian wall unit, perfect for storing your spices and sweet treats. This creates a sociable kitchen where you can knock up a culinary masterpiece while a few of the family sit at the eating area and watch. There is a electric hob with a self cleaning oven. The door looking out to the garden, lets lots of golden light into the home.
A short walk past the kitchen takes you quickly to the new bathroom, pristine in white. On your way to the bathroom you pass a perfectly formed boot room where you can store all of life’s things. Climb another staircase to discover the surprising space upstairs up in the loft. The master-bedroom has a gorgeous outlook over the roof tops of the city, just imagine the fireworks over City Hall at Christmas. There's also lots of storage throughout - perfect for keeping your home organised.
- Style : A large, light and stylish two bedroom apartment
- Highlights : Fully refurbished to the highest standards
- Three Words : Stylish. Large. Home
Our favourite part
The apartment is perfect in many ways. On the outside its got classic Edwardian charm but with a shiny new inside. Far enough out of the city to have that village feel but close enough to be in the thick of it if you need to be.
Village feel in the suburbs of Cardiff
Penylan has an almost village like vibe going on with everything you need right on your doorstep. If you are looking to live near the city but with a quieter more relaxed village vibe, this tree-lined area is perfect. Turning off the main road, magnificent weeping willows command your gaze as well as other pockets of green space. Roath Mill Gardens is a highlight in all seasons. A stones throw from uber trendy Penylan’s institution, Waterloo Gardens Teahouse, there’s a new bike rack which is great for all the family! Leading from here are Waterloo Gardens, which for over 100 years, has been a meeting point for the local dog set and families alike.
Cardiff is truly an incredible city full of arts, crafts, shopping arcades and so much more. It's only a short journey away to the centre which is perfect for those who want to work and play in the hub of everything. There's always new things popping up, and places to see. If you want a day trip away though, you can be on the M4 through Newport onto Bristol...or London or Swansea in minutes!
