Gemma thinks:
This home is immaculate. We could turn the key, pop the kettle on, or even better... pop a cork.

Little Acre is a beautifully designed, detached family home, immaculately finished to the highest of specifications with enviable proximity to Marlow’s bustling high street and pretty riverside.

Gemma loves:
The garden is incredible. I can picture summer barbecues here with friends and family before a stroll by the river.

Set off a quiet street in a highly sought after part of town, Little Acre is nestled in a perfect location with off-road parking in the double car port and large maintained garden. Classy and sophisticated, it’s been completely renovated from top to toe, with the utmost care and attention to detail throughout - ready to move straight into.

The hallway is light and airy and sets the tone in this über-modern abode. A generous living room sits to the left, flooded with natural light from the dual aspect windows. There’s plenty of space here for two large sofas, perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Towards the rear of the home is the sleek kitchen. Oozing quality with its clean lines and stunning worktops, there’s bags of room here to cook up a storm. Integrated appliances caters to the keenest chef and the vibe is clean and minimalistic. We love the kitchen’s open plan aspect, which seamlessly flows to the dining space, where double doors can be thrown to enjoy al-fresco dining with guests. We can picture the summer barbecues already.

A handy utility sits just off the kitchen, perfect for muddy wellies and paws, while a downstairs bedroom and bathroom makes a perfect private hideaway for teenagers or guests.

Upstairs, three bedrooms sit off the landing, all filled with natural light and brilliant storage options. Bedroom three offers a great level of flexibility to be used as a nursery or home office, and a modern family bathroom and handy WC can be found on this floor too.

Outside, a stunning outbuilding has been expertly crafted and thoughtfully laid out to offer residents bags of potential. A studio, gym, home office or home bar…What’s it to be? Incredible triple-track sliding doors open up onto the patio, flooding the space with natural light, and bringing the outside in with a gorgeous garden view that stretches far and wide.

Friendly vibes

Marlow is one of the original down-from-Londoners’ honeypots. Something about its pretty historic streets, and the dreaminess of the Thames hung heavy with weeping willows and boat clubs, has for centuries pulled in those sick of the Smoke – like Percy and Mary Shelley, probably after peace, quiet and a better work-life balance than they could get in the capital, with its streets running with ordure and don’t even talk to me about the cost of barouche-landaus. Legions have followed ever since.

The river is a big draw for legendary Olympians and mere mortals alike. — you may see Sir Steve Redgrave wandering along the banks watching the eager weekend rowers, paddle boarders and boaters. There’s a winning food scene led by Tom Kerridge’s Hand and Flowers, the only UK pub with two Michelin stars, and popular year-round events including the Marlow Regatta and Pub in the Park.

Marlow is unquestionably well heeled. Smart residents have an array of places to be seen and to see each other. The High Street is buzzing and the schools are sought after. There are sports clubs to join, parks to play in, bookshops to browse around and numerous places to buy champagne. Yes, this is a bustling town, yet you’re also in the heavenly walking territory of the Chiltern Hills where you can dare to get your Le Chameaus muddy.

If you’re concerned about schooling, Marlow has it covered. Sir William Borlase is a grammar school right in the centre of town and is renowned for its excellent education, along with Great Marlow School. The primary schools (Spinfield, Danesfield etc…) all have fantastic reputations along with the fine selection of public schools in the area.

Idyllic & postcard pretty

  • Closest village/town: Lots of pretty villages in The Chilterns
  • Post Office: 1
  • Stores: The High Street has some classic favourites as well as some smart independents.
  • Supermarket: No one goes to super markets anymore do they! It's all about delivery from Ocado right?
  • Pubs: Too many to mention. The Hand & Flowers is the best known but there is everything from Champagne bars to old school boozers
  • Walks: Endless countryside walks in the hills
