An old brick workshop has been given a new life.
After several years of planning, building and styling, the Old Brick House now offers everything you could want for modern life, and much more. The large, glass front doors open into a spacious atrium entrance hall, which is flooded with natural light from the roof windows and soft artificial light from the spots and stunning chandelier. The floating staircase invites you to take a look what is upstairs. But we will start our tour downstairs...
The open plan kitchen/ living room to be precise.
The first thing you notice when you walk into the room is the garden and the views. The large sliding doors at the end of the room frame the garden beautifully. You almost forget to appreciate the interior. The sleek white, floor to ceiling units are effortless. The resin work surface provides plenty of work and eating space. There is an induction hob, a wine cooler, integrated fridge, frezzer, oven, microwave and warming drawer, a boiling hot water tap and every modern touch you could dream of.
The polished concrete flooring is hard wearing as well as timelessly chic. Did we mention that there is underfloor heating?
The large living space beyond the kitchen offers flexibility for entertaining or for a cosy night in. There is an L-shaped sofa focusing on the amazing views into the gardens and a formal dining table easily expandable to sit 12.
You then turn to head back into the heart of the home and you take a look upwards. Pick your jaw off the floor and stop saying “wow!” and appreciate the mezzanine. There are rooflights, exposed steel beams and a glass wall. It is stunning. “We put a projector up there, close the blinds and watch movies on Saturday nights with friends.”
Back through the entrance hall there is a smart WC. Turn right and you come to the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room.
The calming tones of the bedroom are sublime. The bathroom is pure luxury - large walk in shower with big head, big bath tub, sink and storage. The dressing room allows clothes and shoes to be stored out of sight. It is a wonderful bedroom, not forgetting another great view from this space into the gardens.
There are two further rooms downstairs. A laundry with streamline cabinets, washing machine, dryer, sink and plenty of work space. The other room is currently used as a snug to curl up with a glass of wine during winter nights. However this room has been used as a gym and office before. It is light and spacious and would suit a variety of uses. It could make a wonderful bedroom.
