Mr Clarke thinks :
This is a great semi-rural location for enjoying community spirit and local village life.

When it comes to gorgeous farmhouse aesthetics, The Rickyard provides style in abundance. Nestled within the semi-rural village of Chaddesley Corbett, The Rickyard occupies a generous plot with views that will never tire, constructed approximately 20 years ago by a local gentleman into this truly special design you see now. In true farmhouse tradition, you are welcomed with a gravelled drive (you could fit a few classic cars on here) which leads up to a beautiful facade. Herringbone brick panels, alongside a magnificent oak porch, welcome you home.
Turn the key in the door and step into the delightful dining hall. Take a moment to appreciate the beautiful oak flooring, giving you the feeling of comfort and luxury. Head through to admire the exposed beams giving this room character. Through the double doors you come to the Drawing Room. Here, the ingle-nook fireplace makes a great addition to this room; lazy days on the couch, movie nights, warm comfort food and chunky sweaters is what we’re feeling. Next door is the study which offers you the ability to work from home…or perhaps it could be turned into a cosy den for the little ones.
Boasting a bright fitted kitchen with an Aga, Siematic units and black quartz work tops, this beating heart of the home is something we are truly jealous of. The central island gives ample storage, there’s plenty of room for a dining table where your guests can keep you company, sip wine and chat whilst you cook. A door leads to the useful utility and boot room. We’d keep all our mucky dog walking boots and gardening gear here.
Mrs Clarke loves :
I love the Dining Hall with its dual aspect windows and double doors into the Drawing Room.
The generous garden is a haven for gardeners. With spacious patio for summer entertaining and large raised lawn for family games this is a place for everyone. Views across the fields to the Clent Hills are the usual if you would like to sit in the raised summerhouse for your morning coffee. If your fingers are extremely green pop through the archway in the hedge and work your magic in the vegetable garden with its raised beds, or sit in the workshop with a cup of tea, and admire your veggies. In the tranquility and quiet… you might hear the rhubarb growing. Moments like these will never be forgotten.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is what dreams are made of. Vaulted ceiling, en-suite, and dressing room are all the things you can expect to enjoy here, along with dual aspect views of the open fields. There are 3 further double bedrooms and a luxurious family bathroom that contains a bath, walk in shower and his-and-hers sinks.
This home would suit a discerning family offering enough space for everyone to relax, play and work.
- Style : Think herringbone timber, oak frames and cosy, natural palettes; Farmhouse style.
- Three words : Rural. Character. Dream.
Our favourite part
Walk through the pergola and find the hidden garden with raised summer house.
