The beautiful open-plan kitchen is dinner party heaven

Approached via a quiet country lane and nestled amongst mature trees, The Brambles offers beautifully rural living, within easy reach of village life.

Kara loves:
I love the mix of old and new at The Brambles, it's the best of both worlds.

Dating to the 1930s, this deceptively spacious property has been extensively and expertly refurbished in recent years by the current owners, maximising the existing period features and offering a perfectly considered and modern way of living.

The home is generously set back from the road with an ample private driveway and internal garage. Upon entry through the front door, attractive engineered oak wood flooring lies underfoot and unifies the ground floor living spaces. In the front reception room, a brick fireplace with solid oak mantle forms a natural focal point, here the combination of natural materials and a neutral colour palette create a feeling of calm and tranquillity. A countryside retreat would not be complete without a log-burning stove - a Charnwood log burner takes pride of place in the adjoining dining room. The central space is a flexible room for either formal dining or a cosier snug setting.

Cleverly extended by the current owners, the jewel in the crown is the bright and airy open-plan kitchen, with space for both cooking and dining. Dove grey shaker style units with solid wood worktops line the walls, while a large central island with breakfast bar provides the perfect spot for casual family entertaining. The kitchen is not short of storage with full height units which cleverly disguise a fridge/freezer, washing machine as well as a larder. A skylight above bathes the room in natural light and large double doors flow effortlessly into the expansive garden. Nestled off the kitchen lie a further downstairs bathroom and a perfect spot for home working.

Moving upstairs, three good-sized bedrooms await. The generous master bedroom has a good provision of built-in storage, not forgetting the countryside views through picturesque lead-lined windows. Just off the Master is a en-suite toilet and sink. Also upstairs a contemporary and luxurious family shower room that is well-equipped with a large rainfall shower and sleek matte grey tiling. The second and third bedrooms are of great sizes, complete with Farrow & Ball feature walls.

Externally, mature trees wrap around the perimeter of the rear garden and frame the view of the expansive countryside beyond. The garden is secluded yet spacious, it offers various options for sitting and enjoying this beautiful woodland backdrop.
