Ben thinks:
The quality of the home is exceptional. Everything is immaculate. But the best bit has to be the bar... I've dreamt of being a pub landlord.

Nestled along a quiet country lane, amongst beautiful countryside, three maypoles makes a wonderful place to call home. This modern property has recently gone through a full refurbishment and everything is in immaculate condition.

Ben loves:
The garden is gorgeous, the kitchen is divine and the peace and quiet is so relaxing.

There is a huge garden to enjoy in all seasons and lots of space to entertain in the big kitchen or the warm living room. Although the surroundings are bucolic, you are moments from Dickens Heath and within easy reach of Solihull and Birmingham and lots of transport links.

The design of this property has been cleverly created to allow the whole family to be together in open-plan rooms, as well as finding peace and quiet in smaller intimate spaces. The garden is effortlessly connected to the inside of the home and it is magical to have the sounds of nature and lots of light flooding in. Everything is immaculate and no expense has been spared on the significant improvements that have taken place over the past few years. We think this is a wonderful home, designed for the rigours of modern living.

Park the car in the open car port and head through the front door into the light filled entrance hall. To your right you see a vast lounge with gorgeous views of the garden. To the left is the stylish open plan kitchen. On this floor there is also a bar (yes, you read that right), a large utility (currently used as a gym), three bedrooms and a shower room. Flexibility is paramount these days, and the ground floor bedrooms in particular could make for an excellent office, snug or games room for the kids. Or even all three. On the first floor there are three large bedrooms and a gorgeous bathroom.

The modern country kitchen is the real beating heart of this home - there is space for ten people to sit around the table for a big family meal, there are lots of spots on which to lean and enjoy a drink whilst the home chef prepares a mid-week supper, and there is even a bar where after dinner drinks can be taken. When it comes to kitchens, we don't think you can get better than this.

The living room is another star of the show. It is huge (60 sqm) and super stylish. You can host a family party in here and fling the bi-fold doors open so the fun can spill into the garden. Or you can light the fire, pop your feet up and watch a movie.

When you head outside and stand within the 1/2 acre plot your shoulders will drop and you relax. There are views of fields in every direction and the beautiful wildlife are the perfect neighbours. The garden has lots of places to sit and relax, there are lots of opportunities to grow, potter and realise every horticultural aspiration. There is a great garden store and numerous places to store garden equipment.

Our favourite part
The setting is divine. But our favourite part has to be the bar!

Dickens Heath

A village with the lot

Dickens Heath

The clever band of developers that designed Dickens Heath were having a good day when they sat down and drew up their plans, there was some seriously good blue sky thinking going on in that meeting. Pretty houses, stylish apartments, lots of amenities, plenty of green space, waterways to wander along on a Sunday afternoon, close to Solihull and near transport links. This is possibly the perfect place to live…
Let’s start in the middle of the village. Main Street provides your everyday necessities and more – a posh pub/ wine bar (a necessity in our book!) that serves up lovely pizzas, is child friendly during the day but also somewhere to let your hair down on a Friday night. A wonderful cafe for the daily latte and a GP surgery, dentist, pharmacist, library and supermarket are all a short stroll away. There is even a village hall with everything from Zumba to baby ballet.
It is the vibe of Dickens Heath that we love so much. Everyone is so friendly. Walking along the manicured streets people won’t pass you without a nod, a smile or a “top of the morning to you!” kind of greeting. It’s as though you have become a local by just being there.

You are minutes from the fabulous town of Solihull where you can shop at Waitrose darling, have a coffee at Joe & The Juice and get some serious retail therapy at John Lewis, Zara and every other High Street favourite fashion house you could dream of. If you’re feeling more adventurous then head to Umberslade wooded adventures…check it out.
Well connected? Whitlock’s End is your nearest station where you can be whizzing off to Birmingham Moor Street. From Solihull or Dorridge you can jump on a train and be in London Marylebone in an hour and 40 mins to two hours. If driving is more your style you can be in Birmingham in thirty minutes or zooming down the M40, M5 or M1 within five minutes.
Schools Primaries: The Dickens Heath Primary School was rated “good” by Ofsted.
