... where you find a bright and spacious shower room and the Master Bedroom. This is no ordinary, pokey, central London sleeping space, this is a big bedroom that would easily fit a super king bed, several pieces of free standing furniture, a dressing table and a couple of chairs. The large window has a pleasant outlook and on an evening it is lovely and quiet - you feel far from the daily grind.

Although the storage is impressive inside the property, you can rent a garage for as little as £20 per week and you can store your bike in the estate bike garage. 

Despite the central location, the surrounding area is surprisingly quiet. This coupled with the double-glazed windows allow for the already quiet area to feel peaceful and undisturbed. The estate is a mix of families, couples and lots of first time buyers. There is a friendly vibe. Services vary but are usually around £50-£80 per month, council tax is approx £106 per month and parking permits are easily available through the council.

Westbourne Road is nestled neatly to the north east of Upper Street, moments from the gorgeous garden squares of Barnsbury and a short stroll to Highbury. You are in a quiet spot amongst beautiful townhouses and public gardens and within easy reach of a wide range of transport links (it's only a £10 Uber to The West End!). This is a gem of a spot in North London and we love it.

Let's start with the most important things - where to eat and drink. Mrs Clarke is obsessed with Sunday... not the day of rest, but the stunning little neighbourhood restaurant at the end of Westbourne Road. A mix of Mediterranean delights and coffee shop treats is worth a daily visit. Mr Clarke is more a Drapers Arms kind of chap. Although one of the top pubs in the land you can always be guaranteed a warm welcome and a great pint.

The great thing about Westbourne Road is that it has a local vibe - people say "hello" to each other, the guys in the dry cleaners remember your name, Yummy Mummies smile when they walk the kids to school and the suit wearers mix with the brickies. This is old school London with a modern feel.

Getting here and there is key, we know that. You name where you work and there is a route for you close to Westbourne Road...

Hip Hackney - twenty mins on your bike.
The City - Northern Line from Angel
Richmond - Overground from Barnsbury & Caledonian Road
Paris - Fifteen min walk to Kings Cross.

  • Supermarket: Waitrose in Holloway and Angel. Sainsbury’s in Angel and Camden (Sainsbury’s Local by Caledonian Road tube, too). Tesco Express near Highbury Corner. Co-Op on Caledonian Road… LOADS!
  • Pubs: The Albion, Hemmingford (the Thai food is incredible), The Drapers Arms etc etc
  • Walks: The Grand Union Canal in both directions is a wonderful way to waste a Sunday afternoon
  • Post Office: There are two. One is on Holloway Road (10 minutes away) and one on North Road (5 minutes away)
