Mike thinks:
This home has undergone full renovation in recent years and the attention to detail is second to none.

This recently modernised family home has been thoughtfully designed with flexible spaces for entertaining and everyday living, relaxing and working. The property has undergone a transformation in recent years and the attention to detail is second to none.

Mike loves:
The finish of the interior is perfect. I love the flow of the home and can picture entertaining friends and family here.

Oozing style, the solid wood kitchen featured white marble look worktops and sleek black bar handles. Integrated appliances, like the Neff double oven and Blomberg Fridge/Freezer, are every modern chef's dream. The attached open-plan living/dining room encourages evenings spent entertaining friends and family. The space boasts plenty of natural light thanks to the stunning bay window and stunning chevron laminate flooring. The Charnwood log burner makes a wonderful addition to the space and is a real must-have during those cool Welsh countryside nights. Also on the ground floor is a downstairs WC fitted with a beautiful patterned tile right of this moment.

Heading upstairs, two generous double bedrooms benefit from pretty garden views, with one also featuring a charming little fireplace. Flooded with natural light from the double windows, the master suite has enough room for a king size bed and makes a wonderful retreat from busy day-to-day life. Also found on this floor is the spacious family bathroom, created with stylish wall to floor concrete effect tiles and a granite towel heater. There's also a large walk-in waterfall shower like that you'd find at an über stylish hotel.

Outside, the spacious garden features a patio area perfect for al-fresco dining and a large lawn where children and dogs can run free. At the bottom of the garden is a stylish wooden garden room that can be used as a home office, yoga studio or even an outdoor bar. With a everything you need right on your doorstep, Western Valley Road makes a wonderful place to call home.

An up and coming area...

Sitting on the outskirts of Newport, but close by to Bristol and Cardiff, is Rogerstone. Home to the award-winning Welsh brewery Tiny Rebel, which was conjured up by two brothers in their dads garage, this place is forever becoming more exciting.

The area is home to the gorgeous Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, which is an idyllic place to mooch around on foot or wheels – time stands still and history overwhelms. The locks have been restored and the Café at the visitor centre is a popular point to congregate and natter over a latte.

Rogerstone is perfect for families as it’s home to a selection of great primary schools. It’s not uncommon for people move to the area just for this reason, especially Bassaleg High School. Catchment plays a big role in whether your child can attend the school, and with education being a high priority for many of our buyers. Mount Pleasant Primary is another notable mention, which made the papers in 2014 when Barack Obama famously paid it a visit.

The area has two train stations, Rogerstone and Pye Corner, which both have lines that run to Cardiff.

...well connected to the city
