The statement fireplace.
A contemporary design in the Northamptonshire town of Corby, this Wren Close address is a minimalist modern home at the end of a private cul-de-sac. Walking up the path in the middle of the lawned front garden, the door opens into a brightly lit hallway with a view through to the back garden. The sunny reception rooms on either side take you through to the kitchen on the left hand side, and the patio and walled garden on the right.
Four bedrooms await upstairs, divided evenly among the two upper floors, and outside, a private 3-car driveway leads to a detached garage that will undoubtedly meet all your storage needs. The front door opens into a hall, the sunlit entrance greeting you as you slip off your shoes, and the wooden floors add a homey touch.
Exploring to the right, the generous 18-foot living room extends to the back garden, glass sliding doors showing you to the next adventure. The focal point of the lounge is the statement fireplace with its rustic mantelpiece, a ledge for little decorations and personal touches. Film nights will now be at yours, in this cinematic space of dreams - just add popcorn, soft blankets, and friends. Entertaining enthusiasts will delight in the dining room, your setting for gorgeous tablescapes and intimate dinners, complete with hand-written place settings and your favourite tipples.
The kitchen is a palette of subtle earthy tones, with integrated appliances adding to its clean design. The sink looks out onto your lovely garden, so you are always part of the action. If you love watching cooking programs or being kept up to date with the game, there is a television hook up on the wall next to the little breakfast nook. A sweet perch for drinks or a quick bowl of cereal before dashing off to school, this is also a great spot to show off your flowers, picked fresh from the garden.

There are endless ways to put your stamp on this home.
Through the new patio doors is your outdoor oasis. The deck is a great setting for outdoor fêtes and barbecues, the wooden benches beside a long oak table filled with guests enjoying the long summer days. In winter, add heaters, fleecy blankets, and mulled wine to create your own European chalet. The garden is the area with the most potential, tailored to your lifestyle. For the avid gardener, the lawn could be extended with raised beds full of fragrant herbs. The deck outside the living room/side decking area would be a perfect place for several potted plants and dwarf apple trees, ready for the first homegrown crumble of the season. In summer, spend leisurely afternoons in the south east-facing garden. Your plants will soak in the sunlight they need to thrive and by the end of the season, your carrots, peppers, leafy greens will be ready for your homegrown salad.
An elegant wooden bannister on the right leads your eye up the stairs to the first floor, giving you a glimpse of the entrance to the main bedroom. Delicate cream walls warm the landings, allowing for beloved works of art to step into the limelight. In the main bedroom, the large fitted wardrobes tidy away all your belongings, and the ensuite.
In the family bathroom, the bath is the setting of little ones’ aquatic adventures or your candle-lit refuge in the evenings (bath bombs included, of course). There is scope to transform this into a wet room or more classic bathroom complete with a roll-top bath.
On the top floor, there are two additional bedrooms for teenagers craving a bit of independence. Skylights bring in oodles of sunshine to these top bedrooms and give a bird’s eye view of the close.
- Setting : Modern Northamptonshire community with fantastic amenities.
- Three words : Possibilities. Contemporary. Welcoming.
Our favourite part
We envisage lively dinner parties and long summer days spent in the garden surrounded by fairy lights and your favourite people.
Well connected & friendly
The enjoyable town setting of Corby has every amenity one could want – fantastic schools (Brooke Weston Academy), a large shopping centre with high street shops and dining, impressive athletic facilities like Corby International Pool with its long course 50m pool, and much more. In the Oakley Vale development, just outside the town centre, the conviviality in the close adds a village feel, and you’ll soon be planning evenings with your neighbours in the Sondes Arms.
An affordable and dynamic area of Northamptonshire with a strong community spirit, there is much to be said for Corby. For the nature lovers, this area is home to beautiful green spaces, a boating park, and fishing lake, as well as countryside walks in the historic Fineshade Wood.
There are great links to surrounding towns and cities, in particular a one-hour direct train to London St. Pancras for those wanting quick access to the delights of the capital.
